Here we see Tom having a go on the lower crux of Flesh for Lulu at Rumney. It's only a minute long and shows that even the most rhythmically challenged among us can dance a little jig. For those who have been to Red Rocks, this will give new meaning to the expression "cliff dancer". Video by Aneta Siemiginowska, Editing by Tom Aldcroft.
This pair of films highlights the difference that good technique can make in climbing. In Feb-2006 Tom took a stab at Yak Crack on the Gallery Wall of Red Rocks. Videographer "Pa" Aldcroft captured the action as Tom powered up the climb in generally poor form, demonstrating everything about what it means to climb (or not) like a man. In the meantime a woman with a French accent had arrived alone, looking fit and asking for a belay. Of course she chose to warm-up on the very climb that Tom had just struggled up. Maybe gravity had been turned down, but she just floated up the route so easily that it hardly seemed like the same route. This was captured on video and set to music by Dad. Enjoy, and for maximum tragi-comic effect be sure to watch the Beast first.
